Fun Run (for those aged 8 to 16)

Having listened to feedback from last year, this year we have included a fun run, to cater for those aged between 8 and 16, to give them a chance to stretch their legs. The fun run is a one lap run of 2.5km, and can be taken as either some fun, or a pure sprint. All those taking part will be awarded a race t-shirt.

£20 to enter the fun run

Scootathlon (for those aged 4 to 8 years old)

400m scoot, 400m cycle, 250m run

Once again, we are putting on our famous scootathlon for those aged between 4 and 8. The Scootathlon is a mini triathlon where children can scoot, cycle and run. This will take place before the triathlon in a safe, dedicated scootathlon area. Boys and girls will race together, in various age categories (depending on numbers).

All three disciplines must be done wearing a helmet, and all children taking part will be awarded a race T-shirt. You will need to bring your own scooter and cycle.

£15 to enter the scootathlon

Kids area

We will have a dedicated “Tri for life kids” area on the day with lots of activities for the little ones
including face painters, balloon fairies and much more.

The Course

The shorter triathlon distance consists of a one lap 400m swim, a four laps 20km cycle and a two laps 5km run. The longer triathlon distance consists of a two laps 800m swim, a six laps 30km cycle and a three laps 7.5km run.
The duathlon is a one lap 2.5km run, a four laps 20km cycle and again a one lap 2.5km run.
The swim is in Dorney Lake with the cycle and run being on totally flat terrain in a closed off area around the lake (no cars or traffic anywhere to be found!). The diagram above shows this in more detail, giving you an idea of the layout.

Withdrawal Policy

All profits from the Tri for life event will be distributed to charities and we are therefore unable to refund entry fees if you withdraw from the race or if we cancel or abandon the event, for whatever reason, at whatever time.
